Tarantulas, Ants, Wasps and Other Photo Shoot Hazards!

It looked like the perfect evening for a photo shoot. We FINALLY got a "cold front" and the temperature dropped from about 105 to 85!!!! There was a nice breeze and everything - it actually felt kind of like fall!

So, we started the shoot and there was a wasp nest above us - the oldest boy was particularly interested b/c he had recently been stung. So... we moved the shoot over just a little bit, got everyone close together and ready to take pictures when the oldest boy noticed a ... tarantula!!! We didn't think he was serious and then dad jumped up and said it was true! Now, I've lived in Texas all my life and have heard of trantulas, but have never seen one up close and personal. It was HUGE!!! He even lifted his legs up like he was about to attack or something! The kids were fascinated, and we ended up getting some great pictures despite the dangerous insects around us!

The kids in this family were great! The oldest - age 5 - was so creative. He attached leaves to a stick and made it fly! The middle boy - age 3- was a climber - anything he could find - he was on it and jumping off it! The youngest -the only girl, age 18 mo - was learning to be independent and wanted to do things by herself! They were all so precious and kept me on my toes!

An Actor in Our Midst!

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to a boy I had the privilege of photographing headshots for back in January. Since then, Keeton's acting career has really taken off! He's been in a national commercial, just finished a film called Parts and signed as a season regular on the Barney television series, just to name a few! Keeton was so fun and energetic to photograph - and he even sang like an angel! A very talented kid and Hollywood is noticing!

Something Special About Twins

I smiled the entire time I proofed these photographs. It's like the twins were telling each other secrets. They gripped each other's hands, wrapped their legs around each other and were just so close. What a neat relationship they will have growing up! They were just so cute and the parents made taking care of the babies look so easy! Dad even had a sense of humor when he got peed on (it happens!). Oh, and the little girl kept pursing her lips, like she was giving kisses. Precious!

Yes... it's early, but it will be one less thing to do when it comes closer to Christmas time. Here's the details:

There will be a limited number of 30 minute sessions offered on Oct. 21st only. Sessions begin at 9 and end at 4:30. The sitting fee is reduced to $65 for a family of four, and 10-20 proofs will be displayed in an online gallery. There will be two packages available in addition to the regular a-la-carte pricing. As an incentive, the first five people to book a mini-session will receive a free photo bracelet!

If you can't make it on Oct. 21, you can still book a regular session for your Christmas portraits. Anyone who books a family session for the month of September receives 25 free Christmas cards! So call today!

Another hot Texas morning, but these little guys were great! The big brother took care of his little brother - such a sensitive spirit! Oh, and he had the cutest little Texas twang going on! All he needs is a cowboy hat!
